PlantID brings together our work on identifying plants and organizing experimental metadata, with tools to create labels for plant phenotyping workflows.

PlantID Label Designer

The Streamlit app creates customizable plant sample labels with QR codes and readable metadata. Label sizes can be configured for plant tags, wrap tags, cryovials, and other sample types. Use the hosted app or run it locally from the repository.

PlantID Label Designer turns spreadsheet rows into QR code and barcode labels for wrap tags, greenhouse pots, sample bags, and cryovials.
One spreadsheet row becomes a plant or sample label in a range of formats. Select the figure to view it at full size.

Get started

  1. Upload a CSV containing your plant metadata.
  2. Configure the label layout, dimensions, and metadata fields.
  3. Download a PDF of your labels for printing.
